The project is located within Boca Raton along the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW). The proposed project was to construct a new concrete panel seawall along the existing shoreline. As a result of the proposed seawall construction, several mangroves and mangrove seedlings were impacted. As such, the compensatory mitigation was the creation of a mangrove planter and the installation and monitoring of relocated and planted mangroves and mangrove seedlings.
The Chappell Group, Inc. completed the mangrove planter design and construction observation and is contracted to performed quarterly/annual site inspections. These site inspection will help The Chappell Group, Inc. staff identify areas requiring maintenance and make recommendations on how to improve and continue the sustainability of the mitigation site. The Chappell Group, Inc. will perform these tasks for The Falcone Group through 2013.
