The Chappell Group was the lead environmental consulting firm for the creation of the mitigation project known as Long Key Natural Area. The Long Key Natural Area is a 22.5 acre wetland mitigation area consisting of the construction of freshwater marsh, slough, tree island and transitional buffer habitat. The mitigation area has been permitted and will be constructed for potential use as mitigation for future Broward County Highway Construction and Engineering Division projects and will also be utilized as a County park. TCG is responsible for environmental design and permitting of the mitigation area. Upon completion of the creation and permitting efforts, TCG is responsible for the required five (5) years of quarterly mitigation monitoring and reporting. The Chappell Group, Inc. will perform these tasks for Broward County through 2017.
