Coconut Creek is a planned “Main Street” development located in the City of Coconut Creek. The project consists of a mixed-use commercial, residential and retail development on an existing 157 acre parcel. Due to the size, scope and unique nature of the proposed project, Coconut Creek Commons was designated as a “Development of Regional Impact” (DRI) and therefore needed a complex review through the Florida Department of Community Affairs. All aspects of the proposed project were reviewed through the DRI process, including research and identification of potential onsite environmental resources.
The Chappell Group, Inc. (TCG) provided all environmental consulting services related to the processing of the DRI. Services provided included a full Phase I Environmental Assessment, along with an onsite environmental assessment for the identification of onsite wetlands, threatened and endangered species and listed species habitat.
